Typesetting and cover design team
This team is headed up by Catherine Cousins with a core team – Hilary Pitt, Dale Rennard and Charlotte Mouncey – all with their specialisms and expertise.
Hilary Pitt has a degree in graphic design and marketing communications and works with authors and small businesses on creating covers, websites and marketing materials. She delights in working on 2QT books with an artistic or creative content and has been recognised for her work on titles such as Mosaic – The Story of Joseph Briggs, the English Tiffany and more recently Hill – Norway. Hilary also enjoys memoirs too, which satisfy her curiousity about the lives people have lived; she feels it is a true gift to be able to write about one’s life for future generations. In her downtime, she tries to be creative in her garden, which the weeds and rabbits appreciate, much to her frustration.
Dale Rennard is also from a graphic design background and he works wonders with our children’s books – both on the inners and the covers. He also undertakes the guidebooks as well as general fiction. His work on the The Adventures of Harry Rose and Settle to Carlisle – Hill Walk with return by Classic Train Route are typical of his creations. Dale also works with authors to design marketing materials.
With a BA Hons in Design for Communication Media (Graphics.) Charlotte Mouncey spent many years working as a project manager on exhibitions and retail interiors. Since 2007 she’s been a freelance designer allowing her to develop her love of working with books and their authors. Charlotte’s creations include illustrated book cover designs and she has an eye for the detail involved in the production of business and self help books. The Settlement and Don’t Get Mad Get Even are examples of her cover designs.
Keeping the office in order is Sara Ward, who saves us from potential chaos. Sara, with her keen eye for detail also proofreads the print ready files.
