September 2017

Frank English will be commencing his book tour of the North West of England. Spaces are still available in the Manchester, Settle and Skipton areas. Confirmed dates and venues so far are on:
 

Monday 18th – 22nd – Morecambe Library, Morecambe – working with youngsters from primary schools in the Morecambe area.

Wednesday 27th – Friday 29th –  Urmston Bookshop, Urmston, Manchester – working with youngsters from the Urmston area.

17th June  – Barry Butler – Author & Illustrator will be holding a Book Launch & Signing at The Station, Station Yard, Richmond
DL10 4LD North Yorkshire from 11am to 3pm. Join Barry Butler on the Platform for a celebration of this wonderful book on the Landscape and Geology of Wainwright’s Coast-to-Coast Walk.  For further information and updates please visit the authors Facebook page

March 2017

2QT Author Frank English will be very busy from Monday 6th to Friday 10th March at the Guisborough Bookshop. Starting at 10am each day there are going to be four sessions each day (2 morning, 2 afternoon) where he will be talking to groups of 30 school children from primary schools in the area, about his writing (how he does it, why, where, when he started), and offering tips on how to improve their own writing.
The bookshop will not be closed during the events, and it will be business as usual. Members of the public are very welcome to pop their heads in and listen.

1-10th October – Leicester is hosting an annual literary fest called Everybody’s Reading. As Part of this Gavin Neale will be doing readings & signing from 11.00 am to 2.00 pm in Waterstones, Highcross, Leicester on Saturday 8th October

(11 – 12am)  and then holding a book signing at SilverDell Bookshop in Kirkham, Lancashire from 2pm signing her book The Froggitt Chain

 Saturday 1st November – Frank English will be at Waterstones, Lancaster branch signing his latest release A Winters Tale and of course his other titles too.

Sunday 2nd November – Sheila Dibnah will be at The Inn On The Wharf, Burnley Christmas Fayre inside at The Inn On The Wharf. A Fayre with a range of Christmas gifts for all the family and entertainment for the children. Venue: The Inn On The Wharf  Doors: 11:00am til 4:00pm (last entry 4:00pm)

 Saturday 8th November – Jane Byle will be signing and selling Montgomery The Churchmouse (Both Hardback and Paperback versions) at the Dallam PTA Craft Fair.  Dallam School, Milnthorpe, Cumbria LA7 7DD. From 10am – 3pm. Free entry – refreshments and toilets available. All proceeds to Dallam PTA

Saturday 27th September – Patricia Combs and the Dumfries & Galloway Writers Co-operative will be at the Quaker Meeting House (and car park if it’s fine) Wigtown, with their pop-up bookshop from 10.00am. Come along and meet some fine authors and hear them read from their work.
Saturday 20th September – Andrew Fogarty will be at Ebb & Flo Bookshop in Chorley between 1-3pm signing his debut novel The Greater Glory

Sunday 27th July – Sheila Dibnah will be at The Cumbria Steam Festival in Flookburgh Cumbria from 11am (in the craft tent).  Its a great day out for all the family

Friday 13th December – Sheila Dibnah will be at Ironbridge Gorge Museum (Blists Hill Victorian Town)  signing A Cast Iron Will from 11am – 2pm.  Sheila will be situated in the entrance/shop area so it a free event but the Museum is a fantastic place so you could always make a day of it. (There is an entry fee for the actual museum).

Saturday 14th December – Frank English will be at Fred Holdsworth Bookshop in Ambleside, Cumbria signing his books – time to be confirmed.

Sunday 15th December – Following his highly successful November signing Paul Ferguson will be at the Hilton Bracknell signing his crime thriller Killing the Dead between 10am – 4pm

Friday 4th October – Maggi Toner-Edgar is one of the presenting artists at the Contemporary Vision: 20 x 20′ Pecha Kucha Style Event at the Rheged Gallery, Penrith, Cumbria Friday 4th Oct at 7pm. Saturday 14th September  – John Leaver will be at Keighley Library as part of their  Heritage Open Day, from 10 – 4pm with his recent autobiography The Life and Times of an Eccentric Yorkshireman.

Saturday 14th September from 13.00pm – John Sinnott will hopefully be signing his newly released – Two-Fisted Gentlemen: a History of Boxing in Widnes & Runcorn (1900-1960) – at the  Curiosity Bookshop, 52 High St. Runcorn, Cheshire WA7 1AW 01928 575956
 (NB: in the event John’s new grandchild choses to arrive earlier than expected i.e. on or before 14th, it is highly likely that he will be unable to attend the book signing! – we will keep you posted!)

Its been a quiet few months with events etc. – however its all gearing up for end of Summer and Christmas so please keep an eye out for events in your local area and support our Authors.

20th August – Frank English will be at York Waterstones for a book signing of his array of titles – and hopefully launching his latest title Autumn Adventures

25th August – Sheila Dibnah – will be at Bradford Industrial Museum from 11 am – 4pm signing her memoirs A Cast-Iron Will. Should be a good day out for the family as there is lots to see in the Museum.

August Bank Holiday weekend – Tilly Walker will be reading from all three Steeplejack Fred Books at the National Railway Museum in York

 

April 2013

Words by The Water  Literary Festival 1st March – 10th March 2013. Theatre by the Lake in Keswick, Cumbria is the centre for this exciting literature festival organised by Ways With Words. For 10 days (from 1 – 10 March 2013) writers and readers get together to share the pleasure of books, words and ideas.

Sarah Hampton’s book Learning to Tie A Bow  will be available for sale at the Bookends Stand and Sarah hopes to be there on the afternoon of the 4th March

 

Frank English will be at Waterstones in Carlisle on Saturday 2nd March 2013 from 11am – signing his latest release.
Week beginning Monday 4 March – Frank English will be participating in multi activities in Lancaster with Waterstones around International Book Week. To include launch party Thursday 7 March, and work with local primary school around the events.

Maggi Toner-Edgar is  instigating a Pecha Kucha Style Event hosted by the Tullie House Museum/Gallery this Thursday:
7 Cumbrian C-Artists, have 7 minutes each on Thursday 7th February at 7.00pm easy to remember !
Although the bar opens for networking at 6pm.
The event is called:
CONTEMPORARY VISION 20 X 20
Each artists shows 20 slides 20 seconds per slide.  This tight format leaves the audience wanting more
This in when the Q & A session gets interesting, dynamic and sometimes heated!
It would be great to have more of these sessions including a greater number of artists in other parts of the county.
It should be fun and you find out about other peoples inspiration to fuel the creative process.
The gallery will be open from 5pm but  —Book now to reserve your seat in the lecture theatre only £3.00 per ticket (£2.50 concession)
