Having coached tennis for over 25 years, Steve has recently semi-retired, giving him the time to enjoy his other interests, golf and the classical guitar, as well as importantly completing this book – an ambition of his for 15 years.
Despite being a sports fanatic and a top table tennis player at school, Steve’s careers adviser could only suggest banking or the civil service. So Steve ended up as a computer programmer/analyst in the Ministry of Defence and hung up his table tennis bat at the age of 25. He took up tennis as his serious hobby, and 5 years later took the plunge into a tennis coaching career, not recommended Steve adds, but somehow he survived.
Steve is married with two daughters and lives in Kent. He says that he is so grateful to his wife, also a tennis enthusiast, for her continual support with his tennis career.
