The author and his wife divide their time between rural Suffolk, England, and Aquitaine in the south west of France; he is glad, now, that the daily commute takes him only as far as his writing desk. Their adult children live and work in London, Singapore and Melbourne.
Having pursued successful careers in two very different professions, he still ranks his favourite job as chief dew sweeper on the greens of his local golf course when, as a schoolboy, he would be up with lark on fresh summer weekends in order to beat even the earliest golfers to the first green.
He is well travelled, particularly in Europe and Africa, but also further afield………..he professes a love of sports, an interest in politics and a fascination with culture and language.
He is a double graduate: Mechanical Engineering and German.
