In more than 60 years as a journalist and writer, Douglas Jackson has worked for some of the world’s leading organisations, including Time-Life of America, British Airways, Kellogg’s, Shell and BP.
His publications include a book to mark Kellogg’s 50th anniversary in Manchester, and with the late Norman Potter, then curator of the Haworth Art Gallery, he co-authored a book on Tiffany.
In 1998 he was awarded a travelling fellowship by the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust, to research the life and times of Joseph Briggs in America, and he has returned several times since. This book is the result.
